Induction cooktop with dials

BoinCT 9/7/2024

Bought this to replace a Bosch conventional cooktop that had confusing touch controls, Love that this has intuitive dial controls. Also love the instant response of the induction heating elements. Takes a little getting used to but cooks more like gas. The hum from the fan is noticeable but not too loud. So far I love it

I love three burners but the forth and largest will only heat up to warm not hot . The ™€œ.high ™€œ part of the burner will only heat to medium. I can™€™t fry anything on this burner because it will not get hot enough. It took me a little time to get used to the size pan, and temperature to cook but now I love these three burners ™€¦and cleaning™€¦. So easy. I have called the customer service and they told me to turn off the power and restart it. Didn™€™t help. Hope you can help me! D.Broostin

The only induction cooktop with knobs!!

AChaunceyT 6/13/2024

We returned a cooktop from a different manufacturer because its electronic overheated, it smelled bad, and the touchpad was annoying and unresponsive. We got this one instead and we™€™re happy because it has physical knobs that are easy to use, it has a better variety of element sizes, and it has two fans built into the bottom that keep the internal electronics cool and not smelly. We are happy with it. My complaints are that it™€™s a little smalller, doesn™€™t have stainless steel around the perimeter, and that the strip of stainless in the front is easily scratched. So, it doesn™€™t look as good but it works better!!

Question re packaging

lozjones 1/14/2024

I have just unpacked my stove top for installation, on the ceramic / glass there were a couple of marks. I assumed that they were just marks on a protective plastic film that covered the glass part, like on a new TV or phone screen. I looked for a corner to peel off the film but couldn't find one, and eventually thought there simply isn't one and the marks I had noticed were on the / ceramic itself, so I tried the Caramabryte included, but the marks appear to be permanent. I can't believe you ship these without a protective film on the glass - the stainless steel and knobs had film on them. Then I noticed the blue LED readouts seem quite dim and not particularly easy to read, especially if I turn the LED lighting in my under cabinet stove hood - which again brings me back to a film on the ceramic / glass. So........1. Are these units shipped from the factory with a protective plastic film on the ceramic/glass?2. If they are not shipped with a protective film on the glass/ceramic, why not?. Why didn't mine have one, or am I missing something? - like how to peel it off.3. If there isn't a protective film that I have somehow missed, is there a way to increase the brightness of the blue LED readouts? Thanks - Loz Jones

Lowest cost induction cooktop with knobs

Brian90 12/26/2023

The large element seems less powerful than our last frigidaire induction hob; power 6 setting now needs a 7 to do the same thing. Maybe it's the 10" vs 8" element size has lower power density for small pans? Not a big issue though, top setting has enough power. Next, it has 2 cooling fans inside which sounds like angry hornets, are synced in speed but still create beat frequencies. Even at lower power settings. Change to one larger fan maybe? And if the knobs could come off to allow cleaning under them, that'd be nice. Finally, it says not to deal between the counter and cooktop for cooling reasons, our installation has plenty of airflow but we still didn't seal. So spills will get under it. Installation: i paid $80 for it but they only sent a delivery contractor with 0 intent to install it. We had to phone to get our $$ back. Other things: the bridge element is fun and easy to use, but makes pan arrangement is a little goofy compared to a 4-corner radiant hob. I'd buy it again for the knobs, but be less excited.

Nice to have knobs

Cookingwogas 7/4/2023

One of the primary reasons we bought this model over other induction cooktops is because it has knobs to set the temps instead of a touch screen. We find knobs easier to use and more reliable. I wish the markings for where to place the pans were more visible. It is difficult to see them without turning on a cooktop light.

Doesn™€™t sit flush

Janifrazzz18 4/27/2023

Product doesn™€™t sit flat because one of the brackets attached to the cooktop sticks out farther than the rest. Frigidaire sent a repair man who as soon as he walked in said he couldn™€™t do anything about it. He sent pics to the company and says they would contact me. I™€™ve never heard from anyone. I love the product. Just sucks to have a brand new kitchen and a wonky cooktop that everyone can see us not sitting flush on the counter. Our contractor said the bracket is like permanently attached to the cooktop. For as much as we paid it should be perfect. Very disappointed in the customer service.

My wife loves it

ncponder 4/21/2023

This cooktop replaced an older radiant style cooktop. The difference in cooking is night and day. And control for heat is very even and infinitely adjustable. Heating the whole pan allows for amazing simmering and when you need to sear something it comes to temp rapidly and evenly. The best part is with induction cooking there is little to no burned food on the cooktop and it™€™s very easy to clean. All in all very pleased with this purchase.

Impossible to find a manual; makes hideous high-pitched noise

ProfChef 4/17/2023

My contractor installed my stovetop and failed to leave me the manual. It's been 45 minutes of fruitless, circular online searching and still no manual in English can be found so I don't know how to use the more advanced functions or troubleshoot the product. Frigidaire wants me to register the product - using the serial. number, which cannot be seen on the product itself once it has been installed. Using it, every time I turn a burner on to cook, the stovetop makes a hideous, high-pitched noise that is painful to my nervous system. There was no warning that the unit would make a noise like this when purchasing it. Contrary to the marketing materials, the stovetop remains hot for some time after use - not a deal breaker, but it makes me wonder what else they aren't telling me. All in all, I'm distressed at the lack of information and the functioning of the stovetop. I will return it.

Induction Cooking

Miata55 4/1/2023

Had to replace a Frigidaire gas cooktop due to health issues and this induction cooktop was one of only a few that has manual knobs that us old folks are used to. It fit perfectly in the cutout of the old Frigidaire unit and is really (so far) a wonderful trade out. It is easy to adjust to and cooks much faster even than the gas unit. Cleans up beautifully.

Induction cooktop

Dark Run Farm 1/18/2023

Our new induction cooktop is beautiful and easy to use right from the start. We fried sausage and eggs, cooked vegetables and made oatmeal on the first day. Everything turned out well, and I was able to use my pans with no issues. All were metal (held a magnet) and had flat bases of sufficient area to make contact with the stove surface. The control knobs are easy to use, and I prefer them over a touch screen. They are fairly close together, so cleaning around them may be an issue.

Good not great - needs some engineering work

seedorfj 10/5/2022

So far the unit has been doing great but there are a few odd things you should know before you buy. 1.) There is not infinite control, its just increments of 0.5 up to 10.2.) There is a long 1-2 second delay from when you stop turning the knob to when the unit actually adjusts the power. If you turn from 10 down to 3.5 for example, it will take you about a second to get it adjusted to what you want, then it takes another 2 seconds before the unit responds for a total of 3 seconds to respond to a temp change. Touch screen units are way faster than this.3.) I haven't been able to test any other induction cooktops but this one needs a really heavy pan to put out full power. The biggest burner is limited to 1900 watts or so for a carbon steel pan or a laminated pan. I can only get more power with a heavy thick cast iron pan. 4.) My biggest burner more or less flat-lines from the 2 to 5 setting. Here is the output in watts for each setting on a cast iron skillet (measured at my electrical panel):Low - 150 watts (intermittent pulses)1.5 - 250 watts (intermittent pulses)2.0 - 350 watts (intermittent pulses)2.5 - 380 watts3.0 - 380 watts3.5 - 380 watts4.0 - 380 watts4.5 - 385 watts5.0 - 400 watts5.5 - 500 watts6.0 - 640 watts6.5 - 810 watts7.0 - 940 watts7.5 - 1075 watts8.0 - 1180 watts8.5 - 1325 watts9.0 - 1480 wattsHi - 2513 wattsPowerBoost - 3750 watts

I am blind and this unit is perfect for me. I wanted an induction cooktop with knobs and this was one of the few option available. I use bump dots so I know which buurner and temp I want, cannot do that with a toucuhpad. The bridge works great for my griddle to cook pankcake and baon. Only complaint, I wish the smallest burner was slightly larger. The induction is so much safer than the radiant. I have had this for almoth a month and love it. A little expensive, but well worth the money, I am hoping to get their matching oven when I have the funds to do so.

Beautiful Cooktop, Quiet, Knobs are Delicate

TexasTerri 1/20/2022

For the past 8 years, i've been cooking on portable induction hobs so it's great to finally have an actual induction cooktop with the ability to heat more than a couple of pans at a time. If you haven't used an induction cooktop, you'll love the ease of cleanup, the speed of cooking and the pleasure of stirring pots without excess heat in the kitchen. I've been using this cooktop for almost 3 weeks. It's quiet - no buzzing that some cooktops create. The manual warns about scratching the cooktop so I've been careful not to slide pans across it and it's been pretty easy to keep looking good. The power levels run from High, then 9 and continue in .5 increments down to Lo which is the equivelent of 1. Level 2 seems to keep a heated pot of water at a steady boil so there isn't much range at the low end of the heat scale. I never needed a double boiler with the portable hobs but I'll be using it with this cooktop. Still, I'm sure I'll adjust to it.This cooktop is available with flat touchscreen controls but I opted for the knobs. I haven't had a cooktop with knobs in years but I was feeling nostalgic for them. They can be gently removed for occasional cleaning underneath them. The only reason I didn't give this cooktop 5 stars is that the metal knobs are not very durable. Within 2 weeks of installation, I noticed that one knob has a gouge in the metal. I've been careful with pans and have no idea how the damage occured. The knobs may not hold up well so be cautious about whatever is around them. Other than that, I'm pleased with the cooktop. It's very straightforward - no timers, no indication of actual cooking temperature or other bells and whistles. But I knew that when I ordered it. I hope it holds up well.

Incredible but with some incredible issues.

Clevernik 12/27/2021

Don™€™t get me wrong, I am loving the responsiveness with induction cooking- it is a game changer. After waiting 6 months for it to arrive, we finally got to give it a try for ourselves in October. There is a slight learning curve here but we loved it! One mistake we made early on was trying to use a pot that is too small for a burner- it will sort of work but not quite. In November, half of it stopped working. Apparently, the circuit board under the bridge connection blew a fuse and had to be replaced, that took another month. The one we ordered has a stainless trim on the front and within a day, it had its first scratch. Now it™€™s sporting about 10! I am very careful with my appliances but this thing scratches just by looking at it. I have all stainless appliances in my kitchen and none of them have any scratches- is the metal they used just really soft? I don™€™t know™€¦but it™€™s very annoying and now, after only 2 months, it looks old. The glass cooktop is still scratch free but that stainless strip just looks awful. All that said, I™€™m am loving induction cooking but I did not expect to have any issues this early on considering the price we paid.

Awesome cooktop

paisan59 12/17/2021

By far the best cooktop. Sad to see this particular model may not be sold for much longer. One of the biggest selling points were the knobs to regulate the cooking power. Touch cooktops do not like wet fingers which most cooks have when cooking. The cooktop itself is awesome. It cooks faster than gas and it is easy to keep clean. This model is by far the best cooktop we had purchased. It is our second induction cooktop and due to the aforementioned touch controls, decided on this cooktop with knobs to regulate the temperature, as our previous one did not respond to wet hands/fingers. Awesome job, Frigidaire. Please continue making models with knob control.

Poor quality

EnriqueS 12/16/2021

After 2 months the left side start failing, both of them doesn't heat and from time to time the cooktop fails with a c181 code, representatives here in Costa Rica haven't provide a solution, I'm still waiting for a refund or a replacement

Awesome Induction!

Zephy 11/12/2021

The Frigidaire Professional Induction cooktop is an amazing device. Easy to clean with removable knobs. The knobs are an excellent choice over the push button functions because fingers are usually wet when cooking and touch sensitive buttons don't work so well with wet fingers. The surface is easily cleaned and only gets slightly warm with induction, never hot enough to burn on food. Highly recommended.

Very Satisfied

Fred in Raleigh 10/16/2021

I've had this cooktop for about 4 months, and so far I am very pleased. No problems. I was worried about reviews that said pan size was very critical, but my new Circulon 13-piece non-stick set has worked just fine. They heat up quickly, and when turning off the heat, boiling stops almost immediately. On the large burner, the heat seems to go evenly all the way to the edge of my 12" pan. All pans seem to heat evenly. I purchased this particular product because as far as I know, Frigidaire is the only company that makes an induction cooktop with knobs on the front. I really dislike those surface controls where your finger better line up exactly, but in my case it was also because my wife is blind and needs a physical knob. You don't need to worry about kids turning on burners, because unless there is a pan on the cooktop, it won't heat up.

Happy to have it

Our cooktop died and this was the only product in stock. With the pandemic everything else on back order for 4-6 months. Now we can cook again and my wife loves it

Better than I Imagined

Grace Always 6/21/2021

I have had the cooktop for about 4 months now, and love it. It heats faster than traditional gas or electric, and when the temp is turned down the results are almost instant. If something does boil over, there is no scalding mess, because the glass isn't heated by elements, and the glass makes clean up much easier than a gas range. When I show someone the cooktop, I always put a pan of water on the top and watch their amazement when the water starts to boil in less than a minute. Then I remove the pan and set my hand on the top where I heated the pan, its crazy you can do this. I feel much safer with the grandkids around when we are cooking.

Expensive repairs

PepeLR 5/6/2021

Just four years into ownership of one of these, ours malfunctioned with error code C016. It beeps when it does it and it has awakened us up in the middle of the night. As it is not under warranty anymore we had it checked and they said they need to replace the control board. That is an over $800 USD repair! so now we're forced to consider a full replacement.

Aweful

JpcAK 4/29/2021

Can not recommend. Half of the burners failed a couple of. Months after installation. Both frigidaire oven and cooktop failed after very little use. Quality is suspect at best.

I wish we'd chosen a different cook top

By the Sea 4/13/2021

I wish we'd chosen a different cook top. I don't like the knobs; they make it difficult to clean - you can't just wipe the cook top clean. Also, you turn on the wrong burner, but don't have a pot on it, it just blinks forever. Our other induction cook top would turn off if you turned on the wrong hob. It was a poor design choice for an induction cook top and a poor decision on our part. Pros: I like the layout of the burners/hobs and it's induction. Our fault for choosing poorly. I hope it lasts, but if I money grew on trees, I'd replace it now.

Love the knobs and cooks well

gazelle 3/28/2021

Love this induction cooktop, especially the knobs. I've had other induction cooktops and did not like the alternative controls. These are terrific. Induction is the way to go.
